About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with excellent management skills to join our business in an assistant supervisor role at our Port Lincoln Terminal. With guidance and support from the Operations Supervisor, this role is responsible for supervising and assisting staff at site with a focus on safety, customer service, food safety and hygiene, and efficiency while storing, handling and shipping South Australian growers’ grain. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys varied and hands on tasks, working in and managing a team, and learning new skills.


  • Effective supervision, direction and leadership of employees and contractors
  • Support operational employees with grain storage and handling tasks
  • Responsible for the administration of safety, food safety and quality documentation
  • Assist with operations planning to comply with safety, quality systems and efficiency targets
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality and quantity of grain stored at site
  • Support the recruitment, selection and induction processes at site

About you

  • Proven supervisory experience, within an operational environment preferable
  • Effective leadership and team building skills
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with colleagues and customers
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Ability to accept new challenges and learn new skills
  • Willing to undertake professional development and training provided by Viterra
  • Previous bulk grain handling experience preferable
