Salary $170,523 to $262,343 p.a. Pro Rata SAES1 – Temporary Contract, up to Three Years

The Executive Director Allied Health (EDAH) reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SALHN for the provision of strategic and professional leadership and significantly contributes to the achievement of SALHN’s strategic priorities as outlined in the Strategic Directions map 2019-2024, South Australia’s Health Care Plan and SALHN’s Service Level Agreement.

The role of EDAH is accountable to the CEO for the Division’s overall performance in accordance with SALHN’s Service Level Agreement,  Integrated Governance and Performance Frameworks and Management Domains and associated performance agreement.

In this role, you will be a key member of SALHN’s Executive Team to set the standards and cultural tones of the organisation, advocate for the patient care and staff requirements of the Division.  You will work within the integrated governance and performance frameworks, be accountable for risk management and the delivery of high quality patient and staff outcomes whilst balancing the Division’s risks, activity and allocated budget.  This position contributes to SALHN’s commissioning process, service design/redesign, prioritisation/re prioritisation process to manage high risks and deliver a balanced budget at financial year end within the Integrated Performance Framework

The EDAH also has carriage for Intermediate Care and Aboriginal Health Services works with a broad and multifaceted portfolio focusing on clinical operations within their remit, consumer and community engagement and Continuous Improvement. More specifically, the EDAH is accountable for the governance and practice standards of Allied Health, Intermediate Care and Aboriginal Health Services staff, the development and effectiveness of systems to support, evaluate and consistently improve Allied Health, Intermediate Care and Aboriginal Health Services practice and healthy work environments and the cost effective provision of health services within their span of control.

As the EDAH, you will be the lead Allied Health professional and work in collaboration with other professional leads, have overarching responsibility for the provision of safe and reliable care across the Network working within a continuous improvement framework and ensure alignment to relevant professional practice standards.

You will oversee relationships with the Department for Health and Wellbeing and other key government and non-government agencies, including professional and industrial bodies, research and education sector as relevant to their span of control.
